Breaking: ESPN Personality Selects Lamar Jackson, the MVP front-runner for the Baltimore Ravens, above Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs as his preferred quarterback for the AFC Championship in the 2023–24 Postseason.

The Lamar Jackson - Patrick Mahomes showdown for the AFC title is already historic | Marca

There’s a potential that this coming Sunday will surpass NFL viewing records. The Detroit Lions will attempt to win their first-ever Super Bowl by defeating the San Francisco 49ers on the road, while the Kansas City Chiefs will go to Baltimore to face Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. The Chiefs, led by two-time MVP Patrick Mahomes, will take on the top-ranked Baltimore Ravens in their third consecutive game in chilly weather.

Mahomes will play in his fourth Super Bowl if they win. Lamar Jackson of Baltimore, meanwhile, will compete in his first-ever AFC Championship despite having a dismal performance in his previous three postseasons. If Stephen A. Smith of ESPN had to choose a quarterback on Sunday, he would choose Jackson over Mahomes.

On ESPN’s premier program First Take, Stephen A. Smith startled his co-hosts by stating that he preferred Lamar Jackson, a dual-threat quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, to two-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes.

Smith responded, “Look, I think that Patrick Mahomes is arguably the greatest quarterback who has ever lived,” when asked which player he would prefer have on Sunday. I have to say that Lamar Jackson is my pick this morning, but he has won three Super Bowls in his first five seasons, six consecutive AFC title games, and what have you.
