Jayson Tatum of the Celtics’ emotional response at being selected an All-Star starter.

On Thursday night, the Boston Celtics, led by Jayson Tatum, defeated the Miami Heat on the road to increase their record to an NBA-best 35-10. Tatum didn’t have to do much to win, but it was still the ideal way to cap off an incredible evening for the Celtics star.

Tatum joined players Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, and Tyrese Haliburton for the Eastern Conference as an All-Star starter earlier in the evening.

Tatum thanked the team on X, a social networking platform that was formerly known as Twitter, following the conclusion of the game against the Heat.

“I used to dream about times like these, 5X all-star. I love and appreciate each and every one of you more than you can ever know, Tatum wrote.

Over his more than five years with the Celtics, Tatum has established himself as one of the league’s unanimous greatest players. He has also guided the team on many deep playoff trips, including the last two seasons.

Individual awards, of course, probably don’t mean nearly as much to Jayson Tatum as an NBA championship does. The Celtics, with the best record in the league right now and a variety of weapons to use around Tatum’s head, appear ready to contend for that title later this spring.

He declared, “This is by far the most talented team I’ve been on.” “This team is the most giving ever. Not that past teams I’ve been on weren’t talented or self-centered; rather, it’s just our talent levels one through five and our professional status.

With a 35-10 overall record, the Celtics have the best record in the NBA. Additionally, they have a starting five full of celebrities, all of whom were in the top ten in the All-Star fan voting. All of the starters have a good case, even though they might not all be invited to Indianapolis for All-Star weekend.

How, therefore, have the C’s distributed the ball among five possible All-Stars? Tatum says it’s all about making sacrifices.

We are all making sacrifices. Tatum acknowledged, “We don’t average as much as we did the previous year. “While no one is hitting career-high numbers, we are all sharing the wealth, eating, winning, and enjoying ourselves in the process.”

Tatum became the first player in Celtics history to average over thirty points per game throughout the previous campaign. Despite averaging just 27 points per game this season, he is shooting an effective 46.8% from the field. Since his freshman season, when he attempted five to ten field goals per game instead of the nine to 19 he currently averages, the St. Louis native hasn’t shot better than that.
