Ken Dorsey will have an OC interview with Buccaneers
According to Adam Schefter, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will hold an interview with Ken Dorsey, the former offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills, to fill the role. According to Schefter’s tweet, the interview with Dorsey is scheduled for next week.
Dorsey also had an interview earlier this week with the Cleveland Browns for their offensive coordinator position.
Following the team’s Week 10 loss to the Denver Broncos, Bills head coach Sean McDermott fired Dorsey from his position as offensive coordinator. Although the specifics of his termination remain undisclosed to the public, it is thought that the post proved to be too demanding for him. Furthermore, during his time, a number of offensive players—chief among them, quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Stefon Diggs—appeared obviously disgruntled.
Despite this, after Dorsey was fired, every player stuck by him, blaming their collective performance and individual efforts for not succeeding rather than Dorsey the squad. Throughout it all, Dorsey was consistently praised for being a great teammate and leader who gave his all to his position as offensive coordinator with the Buffalo Bills.
Dorsey’s availability as an offensive coordinator is not surprising in a league where great coaches are in high demand. It is a matter of when rather than if he finds new employment. Even though things in Buffalo eventually didn’t work out, he might succeed somewhere else. Even though things didn’t work out on the football field, you can be sure that One Bills Drive will have nothing but good things to say about Dorsey should an NFL team contact to inquire about him.
