Eagles appointing Kellen Moore, a former Cowboys assistant, to lead their offensive scheme.
To fill the position of offensive coordinator, the Eagles have looked to their fiercest competitor.
The Eagles have named Kellen Moore as their new offensive coordinator. In his four years in Dallas, Moore guided the Cowboys to three top-6 offensive rankings. This was revealed on Saturday night by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Moore takes over as offensive coordinator for the Eagles after Brian Johnson was sacked this past season following three years of service. In three years, Moore will be the Eagles’ third offensive coordinator.
Under Brandon Staley, who was fired last month and was replaced by former Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, Moore worked as an offensive coordinator for the Chargers for the previous year.

Although the Eagles’ score total from the previous season was eighth in the NFL, the team’s offense became boring and predictable as the season progressed. Five of their previous seven games have seen them score fewer than 20 points, and the Eagles managed just nine points in their wild-card loss to Tampa.
Before beginning his coaching career in 2018 as the Cowboys’ quarterbacks coach, Moore, 35, played backup quarterback for the Lions (2012–14) and Cowboys (2015–17) for a combined total of six seasons. He was elevated to offensive coordinator after a year, a role he retained from 2019 until 2022.
During Moore’s four years in charge of the offense—the first under Jason Garrett and the other three under Mike McCarthy—the Cowboys were ranked sixth, seventeenth, first, and fourth.

Strangely enough, Dak Prescott was coached by both Johnson and Moore—Moore with the Cowboys, and Johnson at Mississippi State.
The Cowboys and Moore broke up after the Cowboys’ 19-12 conference semifinal loss to the 49ers in Santa Clara the previous season. The Chargers hired him the next day, and during his one season in L.A., the team finished with a 5-12 record and the 21st-best offensive ranking.
