You are the best coach: Jets fans are up to support the ideal of……

After the latest coaching appointment, Jets fans begin to connect dots with All-Pro RB.

New York Jets make feelings clear after Denver Broncos revenge victory - Mirror Online

Fans of the New York Jets are already making the connections.

Tony Dews is joining Gang Green “as their next running backs coach,” according to a post made on Twitter by CBS NFL Insider Jonathan Jones on Friday, January 26. Dews had been employed by the Tennessee Titans since 2018 prior to joining the Jets

Jets supporters were requesting that Dews “bring Derrick Henry with him?” Could you picture Henry and [Breece] Hall going one-two?

There is some validity to that when you examine the statistics. Henry totaled 1,234 rushing yards in his first two seasons.

But Henry saw a sharp increase in his performance and output after Dews joined the team in 2018.

Over the next six seasons, he recorded at least 1,000 rushing yards in five of them. Henry only failed to recover from his injury-related eight-game suspension in 2021. Henry was on a remarkable pace to surpass 1,991 rushing yards before to his injury.

Henry has amassed 9,502 running yards, scored 93 touchdowns, and averaged 4.7 rushing yards per clip throughout his eight seasons in the NFL.

Jets Need a RB2 to Breece Hall

Breece Hall proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is a clearcut RB1 in the NFL. However, in today’s day and age, you need multiple running backs that can carry the load.

As it currently stands, if Hall goes down to injury the only viable running back that could step in is Israelnda. Abanika

Due to pass-blocking concerns, the youthful running back found it difficult to see action during his rookie season. That sounds like less than a trustworthy guy for 2024.

Thus, the Jets will require an experienced running back this offseason. You can debate whether, given their other issues, the green and white should target a player with Henry’s caliber rather than a potentially less expensive option.

Though it would be really interesting to have Henry on board. This summer, he is expected to be an unrestricted free agent. Dalvin Cook was given a one-year contract for $7 million by the Jets last year, but he didn’t last.

Henry’s projected market value, as determined by Spotrac, is $4.3 million for a one-year contract.

For someone who has twice led the league in scoring and rushing, is a four-time Pro Bowl player, and was the winner of the offensive player of the year, that is a great deal.

The Jets’ decision to add Cook was a smart one, but it wasn’t carried out to perfection. There are many former Titans coaches working for Gang Green, and they obviously need another experienced backfield player.

Henry intends to sign with a contender this offseason, and he could check all three criteria.
