Sad News: The Celtics star player sustained serious….

Celtics injury report: Center is out for Thursday’s game against the Lakers.

Al Horford

For the game against the Lakers at TD Garden on Thursday, the Celtics will be nearly at full strength. The lone player still listed on the injury report for Thursday’s game is backup center Luke Kornet (hamstring), which Boston confirmed on Wednesday. He has a dubious rating. Al Horford (sprained neck) missed Tuesday’s victory over the Pacers and was taken off the team’s injury list completely.

Kornet may have missed his third consecutive game due to a hamstring injury sustained during Saturday night’s loss to the Clippers. But with Horford back in the lineup, Boston will be much more prepared to take on LeBron James and company. Since the victory over the Heat on Thursday, this will be the first time Boston’s top two big men are available for a game.

Tuesday night marked Porzingis’ comeback from a sprained ankle. In 31 minutes, he scored 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as Boston defeated them by five points. That boost was crucial for the Celtics to fend off the Paces’ late surge and win by five points.

“They played really hard and got into us, and they made a good run and turned it a little ugly,” Porzingis remarked on Wednesday night. They made it difficult for us to play, but we rallied, particularly our second unit, and scored a couple of points in the third and fourth quarters. After that, we simply ended it. The whole team contributed to this.

With just two games left in Boston’s schedule for the next six days, Porzingis should have a decent chance to recover his ankle more in the coming week. Porzingis seemed to emerge from his return without any further health problems.

LeBron James (ankle) and Anthony Davis (achilles), who are both listed as questionable for Thursday’s game, could be absent for the Lakers. Gabe Vincent and Cam Reddish have already been eliminated.

Thursday night’s nationally broadcast game between the Lakers and the Celtics will take off at 7:30 p.m. ET on TNT.
