Craig Roh, a former star football player at the University of Michigan, passed away after a protracted fight with cancer, his wife announced on social media.

His wife Chelsea Roh revealed on X, the former Twitter, that he passed away on February 26 due to Stage IV colon cancer.

“This is Craig’s wife, @mrschelsearoh. God brought Craig home on Monday, February 26th, following an 18-month fight with Stage IV colon cancer, she said. Initially, Roh was a highly anticipated four-star recruit from Scottsdale, Arizona, and he already had connections to Michigan because his father was a Grand Valley State basketball player.

Between 2009 and 2012, Roh was a member of the Wolverines, where he started 51 straight games (at outside linebacker, defensive end, and defensive tackle)—a program record. In addition to winning a BCS Sugar Bowl, he was named a freshman All-American, All-Big Ten, and Top Michigan Defensive Lineman.

He spent a season as an NFL player before moving to the Canadian Football League to play for the BC Lions. He later moved to Winnipeg to win the CFL Grey Cup victory.
