“Belief in circles around leagues” Bill Belichick expressed no interest in the Eagles or Cowboys.
Though it was just supposition, media analysts said that the Eagles and Cowboys would be interested in the former head coach of the Patriots. The most recent confirmation of Mike McCarthy’s 2024 return to Dallas came from Jerry Jones.
Nick Siranni’s case is still pending, but the Eagles head coach will have an exit interview with owner Jeffrey Lurie on Friday. Though it appears doubtful at this moment, there is a remote chance that he gets let go and Philadelphia switches to Belichick.
Bill Belichick, who many believe to be the greatest coach of all time, is scheduled to interview for a second time this weekend, but the Falcons appear to have been the only team to express interest in him. They are also the only team to have interviewed him.
It’s possible that Belichick has expressed interest in the Falcons alone, rather than the other way around. Mike Florio claims that there is “belief in certain league circles” that after Belichick indicated interest in the Eagles and Cowboys, he “didn’t reciprocate,” meaning Dallas and Philadelphia were forced to continue with their current coaches.
It’s possible that Belichick would have more freedom in Atlanta than the NFC East teams. Arthur Blank, who will soon turn 82, is becoming more and more desperate. In an attempt to entice Belichick to join the Falcons, he might offer him anything. Florio continued, “The pressure in Dallas and Philadelphia compared to Atlanta might be another factor.”
According to a league source, Belichick is more likely to move to Atlanta than Dallas or Philadelphia since he is thought to be done with “big-market media.”
Undoubtedly, it’s a novel twist in Bill Belichick’s approach to coaching free agency. Apart from this belief that Florio holds within the league, the only team that has expressed interest in him is the Falcons.
