In the spring, the New England Patriots Cheerleaders held tryouts to assemble a 33-person coed squad consisting of 28 seasoned members and 5 novices. Four line captains were selected from the squad, three of them were five-year veterans. A financial analyst, an oncology nurse, a pediatric speech-pathologist, and five players with master’s degrees were among the team’s diverse professional and educational backgrounds this past season.

The team made trips to two distinct foreign destinations during the year. This comprised three trips to Germany and a calendar photography trip to the Dominican Republic’s Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa. In order to spread some New England spirit, the cheerleaders traveled to Germany for a while during the summer. In an effort to engage with fans throughout the world, a small number of cheerleaders made a comeback in November, just in time for the Patriots-Colts game. Soon after, the entire team traveled abroad to play in the game that was held in Frankfurt on November 12 and make numerous appearances.

500 young cheerleaders, ages 6 to 17, participated in the Patriots Cheerleaders’ yearly Junior Patriots Cheerleader workshops over the summer. Along with practicing a range of cheering techniques like dancing, fitness, tumbling, cheers, leaps, stunts, and team building, the participants picked up a personalized routine from the squad. Junior cheerleaders co-appeared with Patriots cheerleaders at community events throughout the year, continuing the program.

The team made hundreds of visits around New England over the year to assist regional companies and the community through the Patriots Foundation. Following the release of the 2, 2024 calendars, the cheerleaders also signed dozens of calendars, including a limited-edition The Spirit of the Sidelines mini calendar that included images of them in their characteristic costume around the recently refurbished Gillette Stadium.

This season, the Patriots Cheerleaders have performed over 45 routines at ten home games. One international home game was played in Frankfurt, Germany, as part of this.

The Patriots Cheerleaders concluded the season by announcing that captain and five-year veteran Driss D. was awarded the 2023 Cheerleader of the Year. Driss D. will represent the club in Orlando, Florida, at the 2024 Pro Bowl.

The 2023 team would like to thank Patriots Nation for another incredible year as we move toward 2024. Bravo, Pats!
