Once more, Gonzaga is the top team.
Domantas Sabonis, a sophomore at Gonzaga, has made the decision to forego the remainder of his NBA eligibility and declare for college.
freshman Sabonis stated on Thursday that he is now considering his options without using an agency.
“I have had a wonderful two years at Gonzaga, so this has been a very excellent decision for me,” said Sabonis in a recent statement.I owe a debt of appreciation to my teammates, the coaching staff, and all of our terrific fans for making this such an incredible experience for me.
The 2021–22 season began with Mark Few’s squad ranked #1, kept that position for the first two weeks, and then lost eight straight games in late November and early December. They eventually reclaimed back the top spot in mid-January, but Auburn’s victory over Kentucky allowed them to pass them.
Gonzaga currently seems like a team that can dominate the rankings for an extended period of time. The Zags have won 10 league games with an average margin of 30.1 points, and they have not lost a game in the West Coast Conference by less than 16 points. Whatever you think of the WCC competition, that is an incredibly high figure. Gonzaga has won its four games against those other teams by an average of 22.8 points, and the WCC may receive four spots to the NCAA tournament this season.
How Gonzaga loses before the NCAA tournament is beyond me. Thus, the Zags ought to get into the dance as the overall top seed once more.
