BREAKING NEWS :Kader Kohou Tops List of Dolphins’ Non-UFA Free Agents Ahead of 2025 Offseason

As the Miami Dolphins approach the 2025 NFL free agency period, cornerback Kader Kohou stands out among their non-unrestricted free agents (non-UFAs). Kohou, who joined the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2022, has made significant contributions to the team’s defense over the past three seasons.

In 2024, Kohou appeared in 15 games, starting nine, and participated in 66.5% of the defensive snaps. He recorded 45 total tackles, with 33 solo efforts, and secured two interceptions. His consistent performance has been instrumental in bolstering the Dolphins’ secondary.

Kohou’s initial three-year contract, valued at $2.59 million, is set to expire, making him a restricted free agent (RFA) in 2025. As an RFA, the Dolphins have the option to extend a qualifying offer to retain him, allowing them to match any competing offers from other teams. Given his on-field impact and the relatively low financial commitment required, it’s anticipated that Miami will prioritize re-signing Kohou to maintain depth and continuity in their defensive backfield.

In addition to Kohou, the Dolphins have other non-UFA players to consider, including restricted free agents Quinton Bell and Anthony Schwartz, as well as exclusive rights free agents Grant DuBose, Cameron Goode, and Kion Smith. However, Kohou’s performance and potential make him a top priority for the team’s offseason plans.

  • As the free agency period approaches, the Dolphins’ management will need to make strategic decisions to retain key contributors like Kohou while navigating salary cap constraints and roster needs.
