Christian Horner has been instructed to leave Red Bull by former Formula One racer Ralf Schumacher. The team principal is still under heavy scrutiny due to the lack of transparency surrounding the internal inquiry that acquitted him of charges of acting inappropriately with a female colleague.For the first two races of the season, Horner held his position and has consistently refuted the charges. The team got off to a perfect start to the new season with a one-two finish from Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
However, Horner’s future is still uncertain, casting a shadow over their accomplishment. There is a power struggle going on in the hierarchy, with Helmut Marko vying for supremacy.
Jos Verstappen’s father has been calling for Horner to be fired, and now Ralf Schumacher, Michael Schumacher’s brother, has joined the chorus.
This was especially evident during Bahrain’s first weekend. The only time the sport was discussed at all was on race day. What pisses me off about the whole situation is that there is a complete lack of transparency, which makes it very impossible to conduct an objective assessment.
“It started to bother me when he presented himself in the Saudi Arabian PK as a victim. Yes, I apologize to his family, but he was the one who initiated this whole situation.He keeps stating he doesn’t want to discuss anything in depth, but I can’t believe that. Based on my personal experience with my divorce, I can affirm that it might be challenging initially to handle such a sensitive situation in public. However, there comes a point when discussing it is necessary since ultimately, it’s in everyone’s best interests.
