Kevin Durant and Devin Booker of the Suns discuss the ugly defeat to the Bucks and what went wrong. The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Phoenix Suns 140-129 on Sunday. The Bucks used their three-point shooting as their main weapon in the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo, sinking a total of 24 threes to defeat the Suns. Phoenix forward Kevin Durant discussed the subject after the game, stating that Milwaukee played with confidence since their shots were going in.According to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic, Durant stated, “You got five shooters.” “Bobby Portis entered and made all of his shots…You should offer him credit. That has made things easier for him. When you’re ahead 12, 15, or more (points), everyone feels assured. When you hit a three, everyone gets excited.”You’re gonna get hot and they got hot tonight when you have five guys that can shoot the three out on the floor and you rely on just catching and shooting threes,” he continued.
Devin Booker offered his thoughts on the subject as well. The guard for the Suns talked about how the Bucks could “play free” while the Greek Freak wasn’t on the court.
Third-quarter Milwaukee led by as much as twenty-five points. The Bucks gained momentum once more as Damian Lillard drained a 33-footer to put the club up by 15 points going into the fourth quarter. The Suns were able to rally and cut the deficit to six points.
With 6:17 left, the Suns attempted one last rally, cutting the score to seven points. But the Bucks would not have it; they won the game late with a relentless attack from downtown.
Lillard and Bobby Portis combined for 31 points apiece to lead the Bucks.
Bradley Beal led the Arizona team’s attack with 28 points and seven assists. Booker followed with 23 points and nine rebounds, and Grayson Allen finished with 25 points and eight assists.
On Wednesday, the Suns, led by Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, want to recover from their loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.
