The premier player in college basketball is back in the spotlight as Iowa standout guard Caitlin Clark gets closer to shattering the women’s NCAA all-time scoring record. On Thursday night, the second-ranked Hawkeyes (21-2, 10-1 Big Ten) will host Penn State. Clark, who has scored 30 points or more in 51 of her career games, is 66 points away from shattering the record for most points scored in women’s college basketball, which was established by Kelsey Plum of Washington in 2017. As the all-time leader in points and assists for the Big Ten, Clark also leads the country in 3-point field goals made (122), assists per game (7.9), and points per game (32.4).
