Editor’s Letter: I had planned to write no more about the Detroit Lions, but something else came up.

I had assumed that my writing about the Detroit Lions was over. However, I find that writing about my thoughts helps me sort them out. And this is where I came to rest:

POLL: Are the Lions better or worse than last season? - Pride Of Detroit

I’m going to the Super Bowl the next year, and the Detroit Lions will be playing.

That’s not wishful thinking, nor is it even a stress reaction to seeing the Lions lose badly in the NFC Championship game on Sunday in Santa Clara. It’s just bringing what I, you, and the players want to life.

After the defeat, one of them, standout defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, explained the idea. He has been achieving his life goals since he was a young lad, so this is nothing new.

Hutchinson stated on social media that he “has always been a staunch believer that manifestations have no linear schedule.” It’s possible that the dreams of today won’t come true tomorrow or the day after. We might not be able to comprehend this Divine timing, which could lead us to doubt our objectives.

“This promise of dedication and persistence, along with an unrelenting drive for success, ensures that our dreams will one day find their way into the light.”

I know about the concept of manifestation because my daughter, Carly, a student at Michigan State University, practices it and has helped educate me over the past few years.

Here’s an instance from our daily lives: She texted me a year ago, asking me to plan a week of vacation in May so I could take her to California. I was aware that she was considering applying for a certain summer internship in the motion picture business. I exclaimed, “Oh fantastic, you got an internship!” in response.

She corrected herself, no, she was going to fill in an application. She continued, confidently and quietly, by explaining that she would bring the internship to pass. I proceeded to schedule a week-long getaway.

In the end, she secured the internship, and her father was able to take his daughter on two road trips across the country: one in May and another in August, which allowed them to return home.

I think Carly and I define manifestation differently. However, we do agree on two points: on the one hand, it calls for the complete elimination of negativity, and on the other, it calls for commitment and diligence.
