Can the Indiana Fever attract a significant free agent in 2024 to improve the squad around Aliyah Boston?

They will become an extremely strong club with an outstanding #3 pick, assuming Caitlin Clark enters the draft this year. They would become immediate title challengers with Satou Sabally. The other starting-caliber 3s available are Aerial Powers, Diamond DeShields, and Rebecca Allen (I believe DeWanna Bonner is staying put). They might attempt to arrange a trade for Alysha Clark, but I’m not sure what or who they could get in return.

My guess is that the Fever sign a value-for-money big to be the #6 or 7, like Megan Gustafson, and save the big recruitment push for 2025 once Clark is settled. My gut tells me that they won’t be able to sign a player like Sabally until Caitlin Clark actually lands in Indiana.
