With four games remaining in the season, Seager now has 13 RBI. His home run on Monday is his first since April 27 and his third of 2024.
“It’s a necessary quality to have the resilience to keep going,” Seager said to Bally Sports Southwest. “We’re going to compete by showing up every day and playing until the last out. All you can ask of a team is that.
To extend their lead, the Rangers scored one more run in the ninth inning.
On Sunday, the Rangers scored a run in the series finale at Kansas City.
Jonah Heim’s game-tying home run in the ninth, an eighth, and a run in the tenth helped the team escape with a 3-2 victory, taking two of three from the Royals.
Josh Smith walked, Leody Taveras hit, and then Seager launched a 422-foot, two-out home run to center field in the eighth inning.
Their starting pitcher put in yet another excellent performance for the Rangers. After six innings, left-hander Andrew Heaney ended the game with a 2-0 deficit. He struck out five and gave up just one earned run on seven hits.
