During the report, one analyst revealed Dallas had ended Philly’s streak of 94 consecutive game where they scored at least one offensive touchdown.
“The gameplan was simple and brutally efficient,” they said.
Footage then flicked to Lawrence’s post-game media rant at the expense of the Eagles, 12-letter profanity and all.
“Hit a motherf***er in the face,” Lawrence said of the Cowboys’ simple gameplan. “Over and over and over and over again. Until they quit. And when they quit, hit em again!”
“Wanna quickly apologize for some sound we aired a couple moments ago from that Cowboys piece,” Smith said. “Some foul language was used. So, I just want to say, apologies for that on our behalf. Unintentional mistake there.”
Despite the obscenity, fans on social media were actually quite fond of the new, NSFW approach from ESPN.
“Give me an edgier ESPN. I think most people would watch that,” one person joked.
“I wish every broadcast was like this,” said another.
Others also pointed out that this is commonplace on other ESPN favourite, The Pat McAfee Show. However, unlike SportsCenter, McAfee’s show works on a delay so they can mute out any accidental f-bombs by the host.
Lawrence was understandably hyped up after the Cowboys’ victory over their bitter rivals.
QB Dak Prescott completed 24 of 39 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns in the home win, improving America’s Team to 10-3 for the season, and most importantly, 1st place in the NFC East.
Both the Cowboys and Eagles share the same record but Dallas now has a 4-1 record in the division whereas Philly is 3-1 – so it’s the Cowboy who currently occupy the first seed.
The Cowboys round of their regular season with games against the Bills, Dolphins, Lions and Commanders.
