Manager of Sheffield United Wilder received a fine for his tirade about sandwiches.
In response to his team’s Premier League loss to Crystal Palace last month, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder made comments regarding match officials that have cost him £11,500 ($14,537).
Wilder expressed his dissatisfaction with the decisions made after the 3-2 loss in his post-game remarks, hinting that referees would likely rule against the Yorkshire club in the future.
In addition, he charged that a referee’s aide was being impolite for carrying on eating a sandwich when Wilder attempted to speak with referee Tony Harrington following the game.
Regarding his post-match remarks, which the FA claimed constituted “improper conduct in that they implied bias/or attacked the integrity of the referee, or referees generally and/or brought the game into disrepute,” Wilder was charged with violating Rule E3.1.
An FA statement said Wilder had accepted his charge and that an independent regulatory commission had imposed the fine.
