HEADLINE: Brand remains “popular,” but clarity and self-belief are crucial, according to Coley.
When I saw that every player’s shirt in the first test featured the island of Dominica, I was astounded. Given that the game took place in Dominica, I reasoned that Skerrit had to have purchased the first test. But when I woke up for the second test at Port of Spain today, I saw that Dominica was once again printed on the players’ shirts. This made me wonder if Skerrit had purchased the two test series, or if West Indies was now just Dominica, especially after a former test bowler and cricket commentator revealed the alleged funds that were allegedly funneled to the West Indies cricket team through Dominica. It’s incredibly unsettling what I’m seeing, which is why I don’t like it. Sincerely, it makes me think of the billionaire Kerry Parker who changed the cricketing world in the 70’s. Seems like West Indies have found their own Kerry Parker. That’s what is disturbing the West Indies “Cricket brand”Mr Coley
