The fact that this icon is only with us for a single year saddens me much, but it begs the question of whether his decision to come here will pay off in the form of landing the highest-ranked transfer or transfers each year. At UT, Knecht is starting to become well-known. In addition to his accomplishment of bringing individuals he recruited into the league, Coach Barnes will now be able to demonstrate that he can also bring transfers into the league. Although Knecht scored a lot of points last season, many people—including our supporters—questioned whether he could maintain that level of performance at the top level of collegiate basketball. He is capable. Plus, he’s hitting the highest percentages in his career! I witnessed a lot of supporters—Vols fans included—say that Barnes would ruin his offensive ability and would coach it out of him
This year, the Dalton Knecht Effect has been really beneficial to our offensive. I believe it will carry over into recruiting in the future.
