GOOD NEWS: A world-class star have back return to Detroit Tigers baseball as a role player.

Chafin is eager to “rock ‘n’ roll” and welcomes the reunion.

Pitching factors for Andrew Chafin’s dismal 2023 season may have been explored, ranging from a career-high walk rate to fastballs being hammered to a minor decline in slider effectiveness. But when he talked about his return to Detroit with reporters covering the Tigers on Thursday, he gave a surprisingly straightforward, less technical than emotional explanation for his difficulties.

“I won’t use it as an excuse, but I feel like being so far away from my family started to get to me a little bit,” he added. “I don’t know if you want to call it homesickness or what.” “I kept criticizing myself for that and other things that were happening. However, that was just insignificant stuff that has already passed, so let’s get back to rock ‘n’ roll.

Chafin had a great season in Detroit in 2022. His property, which was close to Massillon, Ohio, was a few hours’ drive away. He was becoming more comfortable in a youthful relief corps and was pitching frequently and well. It was a financial decision for him to opt out of his contract and enter free agency last winter; when he signed with Arizona on conditions that were essentially identical to those he had opted out of in Detroit, it ultimately put him much further away from home.

Regarding his difficulties, Chafin remarked, “It would be tough on anybody, truly.” “I’ve been quite steady throughout my career, so that felt like a kick in the face and a reminder that things won’t always be that simple. It seems like I can really take advantage of that, and now that I know how to handle some challenging situations, it will be much simpler for me to go past any future setbacks and resume my desired goals.
