“He’s going to have a great future,” Jonas Vingegaard exclaimed after Thibau Nys won his third stage of the Tour de Pologne.

Despite Jonas Vingegaard’s lead after six stages in the 2024 Tour de Pologne, it is clear who has been the race’s standout performer thus far. Thibau Nys, the wonderkid from Lidl-Trek, has won three stages to date.

Thibau, the son of Sven Nys, has already proven his mettle in the cyclocross world and has won numerous races this year. Nys, though, appears to have raised the stakes once more at the Tour de Pologne, winning three difficult stages in a row in just six days.

Despite the challenging day, we performed admirably. The men rode with amazing strength. The leader of the Tour de Pologne, Jonas Vingegaard, praised Lidl-Trek’s youthful superstar in an interview with Team Visma | Lease a Bike’s official website after stage six, saying, “The last meters were very tough.” “Nys deserves my congrats. He is riding really well here, and I see a bright future for him.”

But for Vingegaard himself, it was just another great day as he comfortably maintained the lead in the overall race. The Dane wraps up his evaluation by saying, “My goal was to keep the leader’s jersey and I succeeded with verve.” “We need to remain vigilant, but I don’t anticipate too many more issues in tomorrow’s sprint stage.”
