Goalie Julien Horton of Cincinnati Football for 2025 Digs Deep Into Bearcats Offer.
TUNNEL HILL: Cincinnati is aiming for Julien Horton, a 2025 athlete from Bel Air High School in Maryland.
The 6-foot-175-pound safety has offers from schools like Duke, West Virginia, Maryland, Indiana, and Georgia Tech but is not currently ranked on any major services.
He recently gave All Bearcats an overview of his Cincinnati offer.
“It was an enormous time for me to receive the offer from Cincinnati,” Horton remarked. We’ve been speaking for a while, and I’m aware that they don’t choose people at random. They examine both your playing and work ethic in great detail. I thought that my efforts had been worthwhile when they extended an offer of a position. I’ve devoted many hours to practicing, reading plays, and generally improving. This offer was akin to them expressing, “We want you on our team. We see you, we see all your hard work.” For me, it’s about continuously improving, being one step ahead of the game, and understanding it inside and out more than just football. My fast thinking and speed on the field are things I’ve worked super hard on. Knowing that Cincinnati noticed that and thought, ‘Yeah, this is the guy we want,’ feels amazing. It’s proof that when you’re really into something, work hard, and keep pushing yourself, good things happen.”
Horton has nothing but positive things to say about the relationship he had with offensive coordinator Brad Glenn.
“It was truly amazing to speak with Coach Brad Glenn,” Horton remarked. He came to my school and made the offer in front of my family, not just over the phone. That demonstrated Cincinnati’s concern for players beyond merely skill level and meant a lot to me. They are interested in your background and identity. I spoke with Coach Glenn on things other than football. We discussed putting in a lot of effort, showing commitment, and constantly trying to improve. He is aware of how I play and how swiftly I can assess situations on the field and make calculated decisions. We discussed my flexibility when playing various positions, which is something I’ve put a lot of effort into. Capable of adjusting, to read the game, and to always be where I need to be is something I take pride in. This chat with coach Glenn made me feel like Cincinnati isn’t just about putting a team together; it’s about building a team of strong, smart, and versatile players.”
He also embraced the UC staff’s entire pitch.
