Lakers News: Anthony Davis’s eye injury update doesn’t seem promising The Lakers’ season would end with a major injury here.

During the Warriors’ Saturday night setback, Anthony Davis took a forearm from Warriors center Trayce Jackson-Davis, which resulted in a rather serious eye injury.

Beyond Dave McMenamin of ESPN’s remark below, which provides some clarity on his long-term predicament, he continued to miss the rest of the game:

His condition is unknown, but since eye swelling usually goes down rather quickly, it’s safe to believe he could play again on Monday.

A corneal abrasion was the formal diagnosis made for the damage, and it may take many days for it to recover.Fortunately for the Lakers, standout guard Trae Young and potentially other important players are not available for Monday night’s game against Atlanta. Given the significance of every Lakers victory at this point in the season, expect AD to try to play through it, but given the matchup, there’s also a chance they feel comfortable even without him.
