It is with great pleasure that FC Halifax Town announces the signing of midfielder Jack Jenkins from Leeds United, a Championship team.
In April 2018, Jenkins committed to a two-year scholarship with Leeds after making appearances in the youth tiers of both Leeds and Garforth Villa. Leeds then made the midfielder an offer for a professional contract in January 2019, which would expire in the summer of 2021. Jenkins did, however, sign a new contract in November 2019 that would keep him at Leeds through the summer of 2023. When Leeds United’s under-21 team played Barrow in the EFL Trophy in October 2020, he had his first taste of adult football. Jenkins made his Leeds senior debut in January 2021 during the team’s 3-0 FA Cup third-round loss to Crawley. Jenkins re-signed a three-year contract with Leeds in September 2021.
The central midfielder played for League Two Salford City on loan for the 2022–2023 season, when he made his debut scoring in an EFL Trophy victory over Liverpool under-21s, 2-1. Jenkins played 11 games for the Ammies in all competitions as they advanced to the League Two playoffs, where they were eliminated by Stockport County in the semifinals. Jenkins signed a loan with Scunthorpe United of the National League North in September 2023, and he played nine games there until January.
Welcome Jack.
