Manchester United in the hunt for Borussia Dortmund’s lethal forward Karim Adeyemi

Manchester United’s transfer approach under INEOS is notably different from the Glazers’ strategy, focusing on bringing in young talent. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been clear about this shift, as demonstrated by the club’s recent acquisition of five players under 26 and significant investments in their academy.

Last season, Manchester United struggled with scoring, relying heavily on Rasmus Hojlund, who was still adjusting to his new environment. To address this, Joshua Zirkzee was signed to bolster the attack, but despite his impressive overall play, he has missed crucial chances in recent games.

To resolve their scoring issues, reports suggest that Manchester United is now targeting Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi, who has started the Bundesliga season strongly with two goals and two assists from three appearances. Adeyemi’s versatility—able to play as a central striker or on the wings—fits well with Erik ten Hag’s tactical preferences. His age also makes him an appealing prospect for United’s new ownership.

In addition to Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle are also interested in the German U21 international, who is reportedly looking to leave Dortmund for a club with more consistent trophy opportunities. Despite Borussia Dortmund’s efforts to retain him, the lure of the Premier League could sway Adeyemi’s decision.

Adeyemi’s left-footed profile aligns with Ten Hag’s preferences, and with Antony’s future uncertain, a move for Adeyemi could be strategically beneficial. His current market value is estimated at €28 million, and securing his services may require a significant investment.
