Gabriel Sara allays concerns regarding his future in Norwich City.
Despite Norwich’s recent difficulties, the Brazilian has put up a number of outstanding individual displays, and some fans are starting to worry that he might attract significant interest from other teams during the forthcoming winter transfer window.
In 16 Championship games this season, Sara has five assists and five goals; only Jonny Rowe has scored more goals for the Canaries since the beginning of the campaign.
The Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A have all expressed interest in him on a regular basis. Stuart Webber, the previous sporting director of City, stated that there was “significant interest” in his services throughout the summer.
Having kept Sara, Norwich is now a key member of David Wagner’s squad, with him starting every game this season with captain Kenny McLean.
In an effort to ease fans’ anxieties, Sara has reaffirmed that his main goal is to assist Norwich in making a successful return to the Premier League.
It was the same thing as last season. There was nothing happening, but I saw some remarks on Instagram and even received messages from people in Brazil saying, “You’re going to this spot.”
“Here, I’m happy,” Sara said to the Pink Un. “I enjoy representing Norwich. Getting Norwich into the Premier League and playing for Norwich there is my goal and my main focus.
“Nothing is happening, and I hope to play in the Premier League very soon and for Norwich for a few more seasons.”
Sara was speaking following a Great Yarmouth fans’ forum event that Norwich City held, when fans were able to ask the 24-year-old and colleague Jack Stacey questions.
While the rumors may not be welcome, one admirer did inquire about his future, which speaks highly of Sara in the eyes of the Canaries supporters.
Part of the reason Sara feels so at home in Norfolk after making the drastic decision to leave Sao Paulo in July 2022 is because of the intensity of her emotions and her connections with followers.
“For this reason, I enjoy being here. People and fans alike make me feel valued, and they value my football skills.
“I have no desire to go since I’m truly content here. I’m hoping to stay here for a few more months or maybe even years.”
