NFL executives claim that Kyler Murray is no longer a Cardinal.
A week wouldn’t pass without rumors about quarterback Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals, would it?
Murray missed the first four weeks of the season and was listed as physically unable to perform (PUP) until Monday, when he was cleared to return. Murray had an ACL tear in Week 14 of the previous season, and he hasn’t fully recovered.
With the hiring of head coach Jonathan Gannon and general manager Monti Ossenfort earlier in the offseason, the Cardinals initiated a fresh start, albeit one that is still unclear in regards to their quarterback situation.
The primary motivation for letting go of Murray is the possibility of selecting a legendary quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft, with Caleb Williams of USC and Drake Maye of North Carolina grabbing much of the press. The Cardinals, to be honest, have no investments from the previous administration and have shown a lot of players the door.
With a large amount of draft cash available, Arizona might be able to make a franchise-changing decision.
