It may be the end of Ronald Acuña Jr’s season. Might he be done with the Atlanta Braves too?

The latest Braves concern is Ronald Acuña Jr.’s knee injury.

For the Braves, there are still many days, weeks, and games still to go in their quest for their second World Series triumph in this decade. However, if Ronald Acuña Jr. misses time, they may encounter an early challenge.

According to The Athletic, the great outfielder’s first MRI revealed meniscus irritation, so on Monday he will have an examination of his right knee in Los Angeles.

The duration of Acuña’s absence is unknown, but what began as a spring training game stretch has developed into a possible concern for the Braves before Opening Day, which is a March 28 game against the Phillies that President of Baseball Operations Alex Anthopoulos still believes Acuña can play in, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The Athletic reports that Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters, “Right now we’re trying to stay hopeful.” “Maybe [he’s gone] for a few weeks or whatever, just to give everyone a break.” To be honest, though, I won’t know until we hear from the local physician.

According to The Athletic, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, the physician who operated on Acuña in 2021 after she tore her ACL, will conduct additional testing.

Snitker told reporters, “I mean, if you look at last year, that’s what [Acuña] means to baseball,” according to The Athletic. How entertaining that child is to watch. Thus, maybe [it’s nothing serious]. He completed all of the pregame drills yesterday.

I’m not a doctor, though. I’ll simply have to wait and see what they have to say. March 2nd is a nice thing, I suppose. We therefore have some time.

Acuña, the 2023 National League MVP, tore his ACL in July 2021 and missed the rest of the season, missing Atlanta’s journey to the World Series. However, in the two seasons since then, he has hit.266 and.337, with.764 and 1.012 OPS, respectively.

He emerged as the first player in MLB history to blast 40 homers and steal 70 bases in the same season, and when Acuña recorded the historic stolen base to secure the milestone during the 10th inning of a September game against the Cubs, he lifted the base out of the dirt and held it above his head.
