“It’s nice to see the city come alive,” A.J. Hinch said as he supported the Lions during their postseason run.
The manager of the Detroit Tigers, A.J. Hinch, stated that he was a Lions fan last weekend and could relate to head coach Dan Campbell, who lost the NFC Championship Game to the San Francisco 49ers after making two risky fourth-down decisions.
In 2017, Hinch and the Houston Astros won a World Series. He lost to the Washington Nationals in 2019 when on a return trip with the Astros. Both series required intense scrutiny and extended to seven games.
During a podcast with baseball reporters Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman from the New York Post on Wednesday, Hinch stated, “I’ve been there, I’ve done that.” “In Game 7 of the World Series, I made a move that doesn’t work out. In Game 7 of the World Series, I made the move that proved to be effective.
Hinch said he enjoyed seeing the city come together in support of the Lions throughout their postseason run.
“Like they did for us in the final stretch as we guided Miguel Cabrera into retirement, the fans came out and supported this club,” Hinch remarked. “Detroit has amazing supporters, and anybody who has visited the city—players, coaches, managers—says it’s a fantastic sports town with amazing support for the local clubs.
Seeing the city come to life and the supporters react appropriately is enjoyable. I want to see more of that in the future. I watch the Lions every season. I love playing football. Dan’s energy is really refreshing. I adore the message he conveyed. I adore the roughness he provided.
“I believe the building across the street from us is something exceptional. Without a doubt, we’ll strive to match their vigor.
