Bill O’Brien, who this month agreed to join the Ohio State football team as their next offensive coordinator, is departing to take a head coaching position with the Boston College Eagles. Following a dismal 2023 campaign, O’Brien parted ways with the New England Patriots, making him a prominent candidate for coaching this summer. Despite Ohio State having scheduled him to be their next offensive play-caller, other programs continued to pursue the 56-year-old. Ohio State is now without an offensive coordinator as O’Brien officially accepted the Boston College frontman position on Friday. The Buckeyes fan base swiftly took to Twitter (also known as X) to express their shock at the state of affairs.
