REPORT: So Sad, The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Head Coach has been Issued A..

Des Hasler, a former coach of the Manly Sea Eagles, claims the Gold Coast Titans utilise heat stress sensors.

Des Hasler, the former coach of the Manly Sea Eagles, claims that his new NRL team uses heat stress sensors within a training tent for player safety. It happens after heat monitoring was brought up as a potential risk in November 2020 during the inquest into the death of a young Manly player.

According to the inquest, Mr. Hasler oversaw a pre-season training exercise that left Keith Titmuss, 20, dead from heat stroke. As Mr. Hasler testified at the investigation last week, he expressed his regret “so, so sorry” to Mr. Titmuss’s family. A 2019 email warning about heat monitoring during training from former club medical officer Luke Inman to former head of sports science Mark Booth was also brought up during the inquest.

“You are leaving yourself open to litigation from a player if they suffer heat stress or at worst, dies,” the message read. Currently in the midst of their preseason training, Mr. Hasler is the coach of the Gold Coast Titans. He revealed that heat monitoring was utilised inside a demountable white tent called a “dojo” at the Queensland team’s base on Friday during his first press appearance following the inquest.

Unidentified tent The “dojo” has received a lot of attention since Mr. Hasler moved to the Gold Coast. When questioned about the tent during his first official press conference with the club, he seemed evasive. Last year, he stated, “To be completely honest, it’s a side business.” It is a centre for functions. I’ll undercut any Gold Coast wedding location, and there will be weddings, funerals, and opportunities for you to scatter your ashes.
