Jesper Fast, a forward with the Carolina Hurricanes, had a neck injury in the regular-season finale against the Blue Jackets, and it is possible that he will miss the whole 2024–25 season as a result.

Jesper Fast was excited about the Carolina Hurricanes’ opportunity to win the Stanley Cup again after the previous season. But defenseman Erik Gudbranson gave him a hard crosscheck in the regular season finale against the Columbus Blue Jackets, forcing him to leave the game. As head coach Rod Brind’Amour had predicted, he was ultimately unable to play in their run against either New York team prior to their second-round exit.

“He underwent another examination, and based on the results, it appears he will not be returning.” All I can tell is that Carolina Hurricanes forward Jesper Fast you was crosschecked by Blue Jackets defenseman Erik Gudbranson during the last regular-season finale. Not good news for him, nor for us.

Regretfully, the worst has been verified for the forward, 32, and his short term prospects. After undergoing neck surgery on August 6th for his season-ending injury, Carolina Hurricanes general manager Erik Tulsky stated to the media that he is not anticipated to play in the 2024–25 campaign.

The seasoned forward has 248 points overall in 703 career games, with 6 goals and 13 assists in 73 games. Given his advanced age, it might be challenging for him to regain his footing in the league during the 2025–2026 campaign. I hope that in the future year, his recuperation goes well.
