As he bemoaned the cancellation of his critically acclaimed television series Outlander, Sam Heughan revealed a startling truth about his own whisky consumption. The eighth and final season of the historical epic, which has no set premiere date, is presently being filmed by Jamie Fraser.
Alongside his day job as a spirits dealer, he also launched a new gin after his Sassenach whisky won honors. His success has made him wealthy; according to a recent Companies House report, his net worth is more than £5 million.
However, he acknowledged that he wasn’t always a whisky connoisseur and that it took him years to discover how to appreciate the beverage. “Everyone in Scotland feels like they should drink whisky, but I hadn’t until I was in my 30s, missing Scotland, and living in London,” he said to the Scottish Sun.
