Some Baltimore Orioles players may soon receive extensions, and one star in particular is eager to receive one.

There’s youthful, great talent on the Baltimore Orioles.

For clubs that struggle with payroll and can’t afford to spend a lot of money on the open market, this is fantastic.

However, given that these players are scheduled to enter free agency at roughly the same time, it also poses some issues.

The Orioles will have to choose which member of their core group will get the lucrative extensions, which might leave the team short on cash in the coming seasons.

Of course, with a possible date for this transition to occur, the transfer of ownership should help ease some of the financial problems that endured under the Angelos family.

Anthony Santander, the standout outfielder for Baltimore, is seeking to reach an extension with the team before the season ends so he can become a free agent.

“That would be wonderful. That’s something my family and I always discuss when we’re not in this room. According to Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun, he said to reporters, “I would love to stay here.”

Santander is one of the most worthy candidates for a contract extension out there.

Over the last two seasons, he has advanced in his profession.
leading the team in home runs and RBI, while also become a clubhouse leader.

The 29-year-old is the first of the Orioles players who is coming off their rookie contracts, with some other big names also scheduled to hit free agency in the coming years.

It will be interesting to see how the front office handles this.

They’ve done a great job of building an elite farm system full of talent who could potentially replace the current established veterans.

But, having experienced players is an important part of winning baseball teams and Baltimore needs to maintain that in their clubhouse.

Regarding Santander, he is now not thinking about his contract.

“I approach every game, every pitch, and every play with the mindset of staying healthy and playing hard. The outcome is out of our control. The preparedness is what matters most,” he declared.

He has presented the strongest argument for the extension he so desperately wants if he plays a major role in the Orioles winning another AL East division championship and maybe a World Series.
