PERFORMING AT THE MIAMI OPEN: WHO?
At the Miami Open, the men’s and women’s singles draws will be dominated by Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek.
In 2019, Djokovic will make his Miami Open debut and aim to win the competition a record seven times. He hasn’t participated in a Miami competition in a few years since he can’t enter the US due to his lack of vaccinations.
Along with Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Daniil Medvedev appear to be the top challengers for the men’s title.
It appears improbable that Rafael Nadal will participate after pulling out on the eve of Indian Wells.
“I don’t think I’m ready to play at the highest level at a big event like this,” remarked Rafael Nadal.

“I can’t lie to myself and the thousands of fans—it’s not an easy decision—it’s a tough one, in fact.”
Since he hasn’t played in Miami since 2017, Nadal—who may be in his final season of competition—is expected to focus his energies on getting healthy in time for the April start of the clay season.
Andy Murray will make his final appearance in the Miami Open.
The former world number one, who was defeated by Elena Rybakina, in the Indian Wells second round, has stated he does not intend to play again this summer.
The women’s field will be led by Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, with Elena Rybakina, last year’s runner-up, seeking to be Defending champion
