Transfer news LIVE as Celtic and Rangers plus Aberdeen FC, Hearts and Hibs eye deals
It’s general election day but before we get to the polls later on, there’s some more pressing matters to take care of.
It’s been a busy transfer window already but with the end of the Euros drifting onto the horizon, we’re only going to kick up a gear from here. At Celtic, Record Sport revealed last night that Adam Idah is on the verge of an anticipated return to Parkhead. Norwich don’t want to sell but the player has made it clear his heart is set on a move.
Across the city, Rangers are continuing their rebuild apace. Hamza Igamane could be the next man through the doors at Auchenhowie. Going the other way, Todd Cantwell has been linked with a lucrative switch to Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah, where he could be reunited with former Gers CEO James Bisgrove.
Aberdeen are currently in Portugal on a warm-weather training camp under new manager Jimmy Thelin, but are without star forward Duk, who is a notable absentee due to a ‘medical issue’.
Meanwhile, down in Edinburgh, David Gray has bolstered his options at Hibs with two new additions and also keen to be reunited with former Hibees teammate Simon Murray who enjoyed a stellar campaign in front of goal for Ross County last season.
City rivals Hearts have been very active in the market with Steven Naismith bolstering his squad with several signings, most recently the announcement (finally) of Yan Dhanda. But that’s unlikely to be the end of it in Gorgie…
