The first of a two-game “I-35 Series” in the Texas capital took place at Moody Center in Austin between the San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets.
Prior to the Nuggets’ 117-106 victory over the Spurs, Denver coach Michael Malone acknowledged to the media that he was uncertain about the game’s location. With 31 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, Nikola Jokic stole the show, leading Denver’s six double-figure scorers.
“I’m not even sure why we’re in this place. Malone stated before to the game, “I’m still trying to figure that out.” However, we are present. Thus, you must accept it.
Malone described the vibe of playing at Moody Center — the home of University of Texas basketball — as having a “preseason feel.” He expressed the importance of players staying focused and treating it as any typical game.
